THE STRANGER - BOOK COVER DESIGN
The book cover for Albert Camus's The Stranger needed a powerful visual metaphor that contributed to the novel. The challenge was to shed light on the novel through a visual that would appeal to past readers and those who haven't read the book.
The final cover uses the concept of death through a simple visual. The person on the cover is the victim that the main character, Meursault, murders. Here, the five red circles resemble death and how Mersualt used a weapon to fire at the victim five times. The color red also resembles the concept of blood.
